Tag renewal is just a click away. The Washington County Clerk's office registered more than 100,400 vehicles and titled more than 70,300 in FY23. The office is a busy place, but instead of visiting us at 100 East Main Street in Jonesborough at the Courthouse, or in our north Johnson City office at 378 Marketplace Boulevard, Suite 1 (just off Knob Creek Road near its intersection with North State of Franklin Road - next to Lifestyle Fitness Center), you can renew your vehicle tags, or a disabled vehicle placard, online.
Duplicate titles can be obtained same day at the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Jonesborough.

The Transportation Modernization Act of 2023, Public Chapter 159 (2023), increases the registration fee for electric vehicles, and creates a registration fee for hybrid vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The fees apply in addition to the standard registration fee and only apply at the time the vehicle registration is renewed.
